Just ordered 2 units with Home Depot parallel kit... Any advise on how to set up and use or what to expect?
ReplyDeleteOrdered 2 units online to use to power AC, microwave, television and all other power to my camper... Has anyone used the parallel kit sold by home depot in conjunction with these generators? Read some complaints on instruction manual regarding polarity and hook-up. Also regarding load lag from one generator to another.
ReplyDeleteIts a good solid unit, but lacks a few simple features. No petcock valve to shutdown gas, no fuel gauge, only a 1 gallon fuel tank with no kit for adding an extended run tank, though diy methods exist. While you get 1800 continuous watts, a 106cc engine on 1 gal of fuel isn't a lot of run time. A yamaha ef2000is while more $ does 1600 watts cont for longer periods than ryobi because of its 79cc engine, and has a petcock/fuel gauge. Despite that the ryobi is a decent running unit
ReplyDeleteI just bought a 7k watt one for $899 , as far as "Clean " power you can run a laptop on most any gen .. i had a 1800 watt one and never used it not enough power for much more then small cook stove or light..
ReplyDeleteIt may seem like a lot, but comparable units run about $1000. Inverter Generators produce clean power, and they're quite- most folks use them for camping and tailgating, as well as small job site power needs.
ReplyDeleteOnly 1800 watts and $600?
