I don't completely know, how your country's electrical rules speaks about it, but by common sense, thickness of grounding wire must be at least no less, than max gauge of phase conductor from generator to electrical installation and point of grounding rod connection isn't best for grounding additional device. I think, that better way is using grounding terminal in distribution panel. Sorry for language fails, best regards from Russia.
Very informative, thank you. I regularly run a 3600w generator from the back of a box trailer. Because its so heavy, i keep it running from the back doors of my trailer. How best to ground my genie under these circumstances?
Yea this is common, it's better than not grounding.
ReplyDeleteYou should be able to, in homes, most copper plumbing is grounded. There is usually a ground clamp at the water meter base.
