  7. thanks for the video well done and now i gonna make sure to get an extra sparky before this storm "sandy" hits us early in the week.
i paid 79 too! love harbor freight. these r like disposable generators at this cost. just enough power to keep fridge and a few lights on. when i want to run micro i just take fridge off while i nuke some food then put fridge back on. i use a inverter to my battery bank to run the micro. just use generator to recharge batteries. :)

  9. not really at all, I bought mine thinking it would last a month, to my surprise its been reliable. I have used it days straight camping, I have done a few repairs but nothing major. All in all a great unit if you know what you are doing. Also very good on gas. I use it to run a heater in my tent. Never let me down.

  10. It may be a "peace" of shit but next time there is a power outage, I will have light and refrigeration and you will be crawling in darkness.

  11. Your little generator is same as mine, and your doesnt smokes, mine smokes as 2 stroke should do.

  12. I think hes still selling it, and will even ship it to your cousin who is currently in Africa!

  13. change the sparkplug

  14. i don't really like HF their stuff is 'fix it in a jiffy then sell it in the shop' . I'll get the rubber hammers but usually place them outside a few days til the rubbery smell goes away otherwise people will think i'm laying asphault in the living room for a driveway

  15. Sportsman Guide also sells one that looks the same under a different name. It's a bit more money but has a bit more hp and a 12 volt plug.

  16. I got one of these as a backup generator for emergencies, but have never fired it up.

  17. YES, it's loud as fuck. You will piss people off as well as drive your own self crazy. But for $89, it's worth it for occasional use.

  18. I put a e3 plug in mine and it smokes way less.

  19. spark plugs they come with are junk get one at the auto parts store they can cross ref them

  20. is this generator too loud for camping?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Change the spark plug. These come with the worst sparkplugs ever. If that won't work then check for gas leaks. Make sure you turn off the fuel valve if not in usage or it will gum up your fuel line. Also, run the gas out of the line once you shut off the valve.

  22. I have returned three of these so far. Keeps giving me low voltage after a period of time. Drops to something like 80 or 90 volts after running for a while. I always purchase the guarantee.

  23. Hi, these generators run well on genuine brand spark plugs, they're the standard size long nose spark plugs like in a car, try an NGK BPR 6ES plug, make sure it's long nose but also the piston doesn't bash it, that should work alright :]

  26. Yes, I am sure the Honda EU2000 will operate a small air conditioner. I suggest something in the 5,000-5,200 BTU range. The problem is the startup. Once the AC is operating it is fine.

    ReplyDelete
  27. are you sure about operating air conditioner on this small generator? please reply ASAP as planning to buy one and thts the the only question i want to answer. thks

  29. Excellent observation. In real life, I do start the generator, let it run for a couple of minutes, and then plug in the load. Creative video making... :)

  33. Aye matey. Excellent advice. Always operate under load.

  34. Never leave these little quiet units running under no load conditions, the mufflers clog up with sooty coke and the internal ports inside become blocked necessitating either replacement or,if you are handy, prising the thing apart with a screw driver and cleaning it,tradesmen leaving a bigger unit running continuously can find a lack of power when needed, when in for service,I used to put them on load and squirt water into the carb, when the accumulated cylinder head coke would then break away.

  35. Ahoy. All great questions. It would take a book to answer in detail. Watch my other two related videos for more info. I can't post links here, these are the titles.

  37. Aye Tom. After hurricane Katrina, the little 2000 Honda was our only source of electricity for 11 months. It even runs a small window AC, 5500 btu.

  38. Abso-frickin'-lutely! They are perfect for camping. With a heavy duty long extension cord you wouldn't even know it was running.

  39. Aye, that would be a handy thing to bring along camping too ;-)
