  4. Excellent work! We love seeing this kind of project. Would like to see a parts list and build instructions... You can post it all on Instructables (dot-com). See our site for generators that are a bit bigger at Renewableswest (dot-com). Also my Project ME4 site: (medash4dotcom). Good luck on your project.

  5. Hello Luis. Since I do not deplete the whole Volt battery every day I was suggested by another Volt owner to setup a small solar "generator" system with the following specs:
1.5-2 kW inverter (over 1KW input, 8 amps charges at 960 watts)
six 6 volt golf cart batteries of 186 amp-hour capacity (1,116ah x6V=6,696 wH)
    charger
    solar panels (how many?)
    plus misc.

I need a mobile setup charging outside during the day and store it in my garage at night while it tops off my Volt battery.

  7. Is this your son? Would you let me fly him over to Orlando and help me build something like this? I'll treat him to a Disney vacation for it ;-) lol I recently bought a Chevy Volt and looking to "top off" the battery at night with Solar Energy generated during the day. Looking for portable system to place outside for generation and in the garage at night for topping of the Volt.

  8. Dear Deepak,
I honestly don't know how to build it or from where to find the components. I have seen a few videos on youtube but the usually use the panels from old garden lights or something I think. We sell solar panels of all sizes at our online store

    BUILDSOLARPANELS.SEXYI.AM

    .

If we come across any idea to construct the panel itself, we will surely post it. Meanwhile, do let us know if we can improve the info in the present video or any other suggestions.

  17. Awesome! What a great project! I'm looking at building something similar myself, and yours is almost exactly what I had in mind! Do you have a link to any plans, diagrams, or parts lists? I'm hoping to get started on mine soon. Great work!

  18. Thanks Preston, It was a lot of back and forth ides on how to setup the components. Our main idea was to isolate Battery Bank from Control panel and Solar Panel. There are rainy areas in the Peruvian jungle on which the Control panel can not be close to Solar panels as an example. The system will be send soon to Peru.
